Prayer Requests:  If you have a prayer request, please call Alice Smith at 277-1344 Catholic Social Services NEEDS YOUR RAGS (Click for more information) CSS FOOD COLLECTION The first weekend of every month is dedicated to collecting food for Catholic Social Services. The buckets designated for CSS will stay in the vestibule of the church to collect whatever food you may wish to contribute. Your generous donations of food help the less fortunate in the Montgomery area. We will sing the Ordinaries in Latin at all Masses on the first Sunday of each month. The Ordinaries are the prayers that are sung by the choir and parishioners at every Sunday Mass. These include the Kyrie, Gloria (Glory to God in the Highest), the responses at the end of the readings and Gospel, the Sanctus (Holy, Holy, Holy), the Mysterium Fideii (Mystery of Faith), and the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God). On the other Sundays of the month the Ordinaries will be sung in English. ST. PETER’S ADULT EDUCATION SERIES Once a month on Sundays at 7 pm in the Parish Hall. Click here for more information ST. PETER’S CHOIR SINGS FOR THE 10:30 AM MASS and rehearses on Wednesday evenings in the Choir room from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Please consider becoming part of St. Peter’s Choir as we praise God with our voices. DOMINICAN NUNS PROJECT  Our next food collection for the nuns in Marbury will be  October 8-9 and the food will be delivered on Wednesday, October 12. Please leave your donations in the bins in the parish hall or at the Church oflice. Non-perishable items food items are collected every month and delivered to the Monastery on the second Wednesday of the month. ST. PETER’S HAS THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING SELECTED AS A   PILGRIM   CHURCH   during   the   Year   of   Mercy,   which   began   December   8 and    will    conclude    on    the    Solemnity    of    Christ    the    King    in    2016.    The proclamation   of   a   Holy   Year   allows   for   further   opportunity   of   prayer,   good works   and   pilgrimage   to   different   sacred   sites.      By   visiting   pilgrimage   centers we receive special graces and plenary indulgences during this Year of Mercy. BEGINNING ADULT BIBLE STUDY continues in the parish hall at 9:00 a.m. and every Sunday, or almost every Sunday, including during the summer. We will use the Revised Standard Version of the text (the RSV is one of two translations approved by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops). Simply  to attend the class. No advance preparation or study is required. All are welcome. CATHOLIC SOCIAL SERVICES continues to provide low-cost Legal Immigration Services at its Montgomery office. Young Adults (21-39) from all Montgomery parishes are invited to Brewing the Faith on the second Monday of each month. Each meeting will include fellowship and a brief talk on our faith. Date: Monday, October 10th join us at Cuco’s at 6:30 PM with special guest Dr. Matt Jordan, Philosophy Professor at AUM. He will speak on the Problem of Evil. October 15th we will be taking a trip to the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville, AL. More details to come!
  NOVENA OF MASSES FOR LIFE This Fall, the archdiocese will be offering a nine day Novena of Masses for Life (Sep. 19 – 27), for the particular intention for the closure of the two abortion centers in the archdiocese and the conversion of their staff. St. Peter’s will hold a Novena Mass Wednesday, September 21 12:10 PM.
